1. This Fellowship is available to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
If you are not an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, you will be unable to complete the form or submit an application.
2. To help ensure that you effectively communicate the details of your project and what you seek to achieve, please ensure that you use clear and concise language in your responses.
Use plain English to explain the project and avoid jargon.
3. Navigating (moving through) the application form
On the right hand side of every screen, there is a box which links directly to that page of the application. You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the application. Do not click on the 'back' button in your webpage as this will remove the work you have just completed.
4. Saving your draft application and returning later
You can press 'save' at any point and log out. When you log back in, your draft application will be saved and you can start where you left off. Once you have created your application you can download it as a PDF, by clicking on the download button at the bottom of the application navigation panel.
5. Submitting your application
The submit button is on the final page. You will not be able to submit your application until all the mandatory questions (marked *) are completed.
6. Once you have submitted your application no further editing is possible.
When you submit your application you will receive an automated email indicating that your application has been successfully submitted. This will be sent to the email you used to register. If you do not receive a confirmation of submission email we have not received your application.
7. All information required for the expression of interest should be entered into the application form.
You are not able to supply information separately.
8. Applicant Support
Due to the volume of enquiries, we are unable to provide feedback on the content of your submission. If, however, you encounter technical difficulties, please refer to the SmartyGrants help guide for applicants, available here. We are unable to accept late submissions, consequently we encourage you to submit your application ahead of time so that any challenges can be resolved before the deadline.
